Jidenna’s unique blend of talents landed him at Wondaland Records, where he collaborated with artists like Roman GianArthur, St. Beauty, Deep Cotton, and Janelle Monáe herself. He made his official debut with the song “Classic Man” alongside GianArthur in February 2015, which gained significant traction and charted on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.

Further recognition followed, with his song “Classic Man” being nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 58th Grammy Awards. His achievements continued with performances at events like the BET Awards and his title as best new artist at the 2015 Soul Train Music Awards.

Jidenna’s musical journey saw him releasing his debut studio album, “The Chief,” in 2017, followed by his second album, “85 to Africa,” in 2019. His music is influenced by notable figures like KRS-One and Big Daddy Kane, as well as the Nigerian Highlife music genre. His style, influenced by the Harlem Renaissance and traditional West African design, reflects a blend of European and African aesthetics.
