Bello Turji’s Speaks On Links With Boko Haram/ISWAP

Bello Turji, a notorious bandit leader, has revealed that he has no affiliation with the ISWAP or members of Boko Haram.

This statement was made by Bello Turji, a notorious bandit, in an interview with Trust Television, which was carried on Saturday by the Daily Trust.

Turji claims he does not need any ties to ISWAP or Boko Haram since he does not have a political objective and is not seeking to build his own territory, according to Turji.

He said: “We are not interested in establishing any religious organization. We are not aspiring to have a territory of our own, and we don’t have any political aspirations.

“We took up arms to protect the lives of our people that are being killed, it is not just because we are merciless or we are unconscious of Allah who created us.”

Turji went on to say that the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is unable to stop the flow of illicit weaponry into the nation or to restrict access to communication in the country.

The bandit leader added that the federal and Zamfara governments would be unable to curtail the operations of bandits by imposing phone call limitations or taking other steps to do so.

Turji was referring to the limits imposed in Zamfara in September of last year in order to curtail the operations of bandits in the state at the time of his statement.

He said, “It is not right to deny Fulani entry into Shinkafi; it’s a local government for all citizens. If you deny Fulani entry, where are they supposed to go?

“If you buy just a measure of maize, they confiscate it; or if you buy a loaf of bread they will say you are buying it for Turji. Is it only Turji who eats out of all the people here?

“Let me ask you; isn’t this a gun? Is it those who failed to prevent the circulation of arms in Nigeria that will prevent us from buying petrol, which even a little kid knows where it can be obtained?”
