Another APC Chairmanship Aspirant Steps Down For Senator Abdullahi Adamu
Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairmanship, has resigned from the contest.
Nasir Mohammed, his spokesperson, confirmed this on Saturday.
Sani Musa, who represents the Niger East Senatorial District, said this only hours before the APC National Convention began.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the consensus candidate and President Muhammadu Buhari’s preferred choice, has committed to endorse the lawmaker.
Recall that Buhari met with the candidates on Friday in an attempt to reach an agreement on a consensus candidate for all seats.
Senator Tanko Al-Makura, another candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leadership seat, has withdrawn from the contest.
He dropped out of the campaign to endorse Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who is said to have President Buhari’s backing.
Al-spokeswoman, Makura’s Danjuma Joseph, verified the news, which came only hours before the start of the APC national convention in Abuja.
