Tunji attended Egbado College (now Yewa College) and later pursued his education at Technical College (now Ibadan Polytechnic) in Ibadan.

His dedication to serving the nation led him to join the Nigerian Army in 1967, enrolling as an officer cadet of the 3rd Regular Course. He graduated from the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, where he earned the NDA Certificate of Education. Tunji Olurin also underwent training at the School of Infantry, Quetta, Pakistan, the Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

Tunji Olurin  Career and Achievements:

In March 1970, Tunji Olurin was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army. Throughout his illustrious military career, he served in various notable positions, showcasing his commitment and expertise. He played a crucial role as the Deputy Defence Attaché to the Nigerian High Commission in India from 1975 to 1978.

One of the significant highlights of Tunji Olurin’s career was his service as the military Governor of Oyo State. Additionally, he earned accolades and respect for his leadership as the Field Commander of the ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force during the 1992-1993 First Liberian Civil War.
