Simone Biles Early Life and Education:
Simone Biles was the third of four siblings, and her mother, Shanon Biles, struggled to care for her and her siblings. As a result, they spent time in foster care. Fortunately, Simone’s maternal grandfather, Ron Biles, and his second wife, Nellie Cayetano Biles, stepped in and began taking care of Simone and her younger sister, Adria, in 2000. Eventually, Ron and Nellie adopted both sisters, while the two older siblings were adopted by Ron’s sister.
Simone Biles obtained Belizean citizenship through her adopted mother and considers Belize to be her second home. She and her family are devoted Roman Catholics.
