His passion for African music led him to create the Radio Nigeria 2 program called “Afrika in Vogue,” which aired for a year starting in the first quarter of 1989.

In 1995, Obafemi Lasode founded Afrika ‘n Vogue/Even-Ezra Studios. One of his notable works includes the production and direction of the acclaimed African epic film titled “Sango” in 1997. The film was selected as the opening feature for the 2002 Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Film Festival, gaining international recognition for its excellence.

Aside from filmmaking, Obafemi Lasode is also an accomplished writer. His book titled “Television Broadcasting: The Nigerian Experience (1959-1992)” remains a valuable resource and is taught in universities across Nigeria.
