Who Is Genevieve Nnaji?
Genevieve Nnaji (Born May 3, 1979) is a Nigerian actress, producer, and director. She is from Mbaise of Imo State, Nigeria. But was born and grew-up in Lagos. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, becoming the first person to do so.

Early life
In 2011, she was recognized by the Nigerian Federal Republic as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic for her contribution to Nollywood.
Her directorial debut movie, “Lion heart” was disqualified because it contained mostly English dialogue.
She has spent decades in the film industry and was profiled alongside some other celebrities and business executives in 2020 in two new books by the publisher and Editor in Chief of YES International 12-year-old Azuh Arinze in the magazine.
Career and Achievements
Growing up, Nnaji performed in the soap opera Ripples before she gained popularity in the Nigerian film industry.
When she was 19, she played a prominent role in the film Most Wanted and would go on to star in Mark of the Beast, Ijé:
The Journey, and more. In the past two decades, Nnaji has been in over 200 Nigerian movies.

In 2004, she signed a recording contract with Ghanaian record label EKB Records and released her debut album One Logologo Line.
It is a mix of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Urban music. In 2004, she contended with other celebrities for the search for the face of Lux. In 2005, she won the AMAA for Best Actress in a Leading Role, becoming the first actor to win the award.
