Biography

He was born on August 13, 1940, to Paul and Marjorie (Bemis) Lidgett of Chambers. He grew up on the family farm southeast of Chambers with his brother Darrold and attended Chambers schools, graduating in 1959.

Kenneth Lidgett Career

In 1961, he enlisted in the US Army. After his military service, he returned home and married Maxine Baker, of Atkinson, with whom he had 6 children. Ken made a living as an over-the-road truck driver and drove literally millions of miles, many of those with his second wife, Kristy Libolt, of Springview, with whom he was married for 25 years. 

Kenneth Lidgett Hobbies

When he wasn’t driving his truck, he had many hobbies over the years. He loved working in his garden, canning, cooking, ballroom dancing, music and karaoke, photography and many other things. He looked forward to traveling with his partner, Linda, to the South Dakota State Fair every year, often submitting paintings and photos to be judged.

He is survived by his partner and close friend, Linda Peer, of Bartlett; his brother Darrold (Sandy) Lidgett of Norfolk, NE; his daughter Joan Jakoubek of Council Bluffs, IA; his son Eric (Kim) Lidgett, of Overland Park, KS; his daughter Kari (Paul) Webber of Omaha, NE; his 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother (Marjorie), father (Paul), two daughters (Lori and Lisa) and son (Timothy).

Kenneth Lidgett Funeral

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Seger Funeral Home of Atkinson. Services will be held after the holidays in Chambers. Memorials to the family can be made to the family and mailed to Seger Funeral Home, PO Box 99, Atkinson, NE 68713.
