Kebbi State Deputy Governor Luckily escapes Death, As Bandit Attacked His Convoy
Col Yombe Dabai (Rtd), the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, is luckily and fortunate to have narrowly evaded death when his convoy was assaulted by bandits in the state.
On Wednesday, an attack happened in Kanya village in Danko/Wassagu local government of the State, resulting in a gunfight between Dabai’s security force and the bandits.
When his convoy stumbled across a big number of bandits working in Kanya village, the Deputy Governor was claimed to be touring various locations in the state afflicted by bandit activity.
When the Deputy Governor arrived, the bandits were stealing stores, residences, and rustling livestock in the region, according to Rabiu Kamba, Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Security Matters.
This spurred the Deputy Governor and troops in his convoy to attempt rescuing the people from the robbers but a gunfight erupted in the process.
During the gunfight, one of the troops on the Deputy Governor’s security detail was tragically killed, while the criminals fled with injuries and wounds.
Mr. Kamba, on the other hand, stated that the Deputy Governor was quickly taken away from the scene without injuries.
