Biyi Bandele is a Nigerian Novelist, producer, Director, and Filmmaker. He was born on 13th October 1967 in Kafancha, Kaduna State, Nigeria to a veteran soldier Solomon Bandele Thomas who fought in the Burma campaign in World war II.
Biyi Bandele had his elementary and his secondary school in Kafancha, Kaduna. In 1985 he moved to Lagos, two years he was admitted to Obafemi Awolowo University – Ile Ife Osun state Nigeria where he study. In 1990 shortly after his graduation, he left for London after winning first prize, a one-year stay in the International Student playscript competition, he has been there since there.

His first directorial debut, Half of a Yellow Sun was released in 2013, followed by Fifty ( 2015), in 2022 he directed Blood sisters, the First Nigerian Original series.
