Adekoya began her education at Bright Star nursery and primary school before continuing on to Bright Star Comprehensive High School for her secondary education.
She obtained a bachelor of arts degree in mass communications from Babcock University. Yewande Adekoya is happily married and has two children. She currently works as an event manager at a telecom company based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Career and Achievement
Yewande Adekoya began acting in 2002 with Alphabash Music And Theatre Group. In 2006, she scripted and produced her first film, Life Secret.
Olanrewaju Oyelakin, also known as Amaju or amadarapo (by people from Ogun state) won five film awards from Africa Movie Academy Award, a lifetime achievement award at the 2014 City People Entertainment Awards, a best actress nomination for her 2014 role in Kudi Klepto at the 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards, and a best actress award for her film Kurukuru at the 2016 ACIA awards. Her movie Iyawo Adedigba got the 2017 City People Movie Awards best movie of the year award.
