He then pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at Imo State University and furthered his studies at the University of Lagos, earning a Master of Laws (LLM) degree. Continuing his academic pursuits, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from the University of Jos. In 1989, Nwajiuba was called to the Nigerian bar, solidifying his professional status as a certified lawyer.
