Pascal, whose mother is from the Esan tribe of Edo State, is a native of Awomanma in Owerri, Imo State.

In 2015, he reported that he will be concentrating on living a life that pleases God. Prior to this, he was separated from his wife for a period of time before reconciling and seeking sponsorship for a vow renewal.

Career and achievements 

Pascal Amanfo was interviewed on The Delay Show (Ghana) he commented that Adjetey Anang is a director’s dream choice  because of his many abilities and determination. 

This sentiment was echoed by Amanfo’s ranking on the list of Nigerian film directors on Pulse in 2014. 

The Nigerian Nollywood actress Sharon Francis mentioned her mentor, Abdullahi Amanfo Tafiri, in a 2014 interview with Vanguard. She said she thinks he deserves recognition for helping guide her to fame.

She explained that Amanfo, who is a renowned Ghanaian director, always does things with ease and clarity for everyone involved in the crew, and that this fact may have lead to his great popularity among industry members in Ghana and Nigeria. 

In 2011, Amanfo was a director of the film Single Six starring Yvonne Okoro and John Dumelo. In 2013, Amanfo released Boko Haram, a Nigerian and Ghanaian movie with dramatic outcomes. 

Consequently, the film was restricted by Ghanaian authorities and failed in Nigeria, even though the title was changed to Nation under Siege. Amanfo released a trailer for Purple Rose (2014) that stars Nse Ikpe Etim.
