Yemi Alade Discloses Why Wizkid Got Defeated At The 64th Grammys

Yemi Alade, a Nigerian Afropop musician, has turned to Twitter to explain why Angelique Kidjo’s “Mother Nature” album, featuring Beninese icon, Angelique Kidjo, was named Best Global Music Album at the 64th Grammy Awards event.

According to our sources, Angelique Kidjo beat four Nigerian artists, including Wizkid with his Made In Lagos Deluxe album, Femi and Made Kuti with their Legacy + albums, as well as Burnaboy, who were all nominated in the same category as Angelique Kidjo.

In response to Kidjo’s Mother Nature album winning the Best Global Music Record prize at the 64th Grammy Awards event, Yemi Alade, who was nominated for a Grammy for her work with Angelique, stated the album deserved to win the honor.

According to a statement on Twitter by @PapiWater, the musician made this announcement by retweeting a message that explained that “Mother Nature” recognized Africans’ originality while also honoring victims of the #EndSARS demonstrations in Nigeria and climate change.
