Why I Am In Support Of Tinubu’s Presidential Ambition – Emir Of Katsina

In an interview with The Guardian, Dr. Abdulmuminin Kabir Usman, the Emir of Katsina, explained why he supports the presidential ambitions of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national head of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu is running for president in 2023, and Usman says he is supporting him because the presidential prospect aided him in a variety of ways when he was a district head in Nigeria.

The king said that, in light of their long-standing connection, he would contribute to the campaign of the former governor of Lagos and assist him when appropriate on policy matters.

In a meeting with members of the Arewa Organizations Movement for Asiwaju, which is chaired by Senator Abu Ibrahim, in his palace in Katsina on Friday, he made this point clear.

He said: “We will look into whatever movement he is into, where we will support where there is need to support and we will correct where necessary. I knew Tinubu when he was governor while I was district head and he has assisted me in many ways. Now that I am on the throne, he is contesting for president, tell me why I should disown him.

So, this man that you brought, Tinubu, is home here, he is son of the soil and he has done a lot for me. I was in Lagos some three weeks ago, the first since 1967 and I have seen how Lagos is transformed and I concluded that all the country’s wealth is in Lagos.”

He stated that Tinubu is the only one who has the potential to resolve the security difficulties that the north is experiencing, as well as to restore normality to the area.

In a previous speech, the delegation’s leader informed the emir that, if given the opportunity, Tinubu had the ability to handle the difficulties facing the nation.

He said that the team had arrived to the emir’s palace to seek his blessings, assistance, and advise on the realization of the Arewa Organizations Movement for Asiwaju 2023’s ambition of establishing a new state in the country.
