Two goals from Obasanjo as OOPL beats Ogun Govt in a novelty match
On his 85th birthday, former President Olusegun Obasanjo was honored with a novelty football match.
The elder statesman played for the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) at the historic occasion, scoring two goals in a match against the Ogun State Government team.
In the encounter, six goals were scored. OOPL triumphed by four goals, two of which were scored by Obasanjo, while the State Government side only scored two to make the score 4-2.
The OOPL squad was captained by Obasanjo against the Ogun State Government side, which was headed by Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele.
Before the game, Obasanjo was spotted in his full uniform, demonstrating his football talents to admirers and well-wishers who had come to congratulate him.
After the contest, Obasanjo thanked God for his physical condition, despite his advanced age.
