Top Bandit Leader Yellow and Others In Apprehended In Kaduna

In a raid, the Nigeria Police Force’s Kaduna State Command apprehended a senior bandit commander and took him into custody.

In accordance with our information, Ahmed Yunusa, also known as Yellow Ashana, was paraded before the command headquarters on Thursday with other offenders..

According to police sources, Yellow Ashana and his syndicates have been terrorizing towns and commuters traveling on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Following a raid that resulted in the killing of a member of his syndicate, Yellow Magaji, alias Arushe, the 36-year-old criminal is alleged to have been on the lam for many days.

Ashana, on the other hand, met his end during a sting operation conducted by officers from the Police FIB-STS. The seasoned criminal has admitted to being the leader of a network that carried out fatal assaults on the Abuja-Kaduna road and Kadara town in Kaduna state.

Furthermore, he admitted to the kidnapping and death of a woman named Hafsat Isah who, according to him, had been enticed into their camp by her friend Ladi Sale, who had also been apprehended by police.

A 37-year-old woman from Vom LGA in Plateau State was captured by the police unit on the Samminaka/Jos highway in Kaduna. Mrs Nvou Michael was arrested by the police unit.

A Toyota Hummer traveling from Jos to Kaduna was found to be in possession of 15 locally produced guns and 400 rounds of 7.62x39mm AK47 ammunition, all of which were disguised.

Several bandit groups in Kaduna are claimed to be supplied by Mrs Michael, who is thought to be a weapons smuggler.

A 33-year-old man from Donga, Taraba State, was also apprehended while transporting 1,500 rounds of AK47 ammunition from Wukari to bandits in Donga Forest. Nuhu Yakubu was arrested as a result of his involvement in the operation.

Idris Abdulwahab, 26 years old, and Adams Ibrahim, 37 years old, both from Okene, Kogi State, were detained by the FIB-STS on the same day.

Their involvement in significant bank robberies in Ondo State and in Egbe, Yagba West LGA of Kogi in 2021, where they murdered a security guard, were both established by investigators.

The suspects are well-versed in the deployment of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to obtain entry into financial institutions by force.

They were apprehended with N1,880,000 at a checkpoint in Isonu, Kogi, while on their way to Okene from their woodland hiding, according to the police.
