Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has arrived in Ebonyi State for a two-day official visit.

At around 11:15 a.m., the president arrived in the state, joined by Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi and other key government officials.

The streets of the capital city had a fresh appearance, according to NAN, with various security officers sighted at crucial points.

The president’s helicopter, with registration number 5N–FG1, landed on the pavilion within the governor’s palace in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area, in his hometown.

After greeting key government officials and traditional rulers, among others who came to greet him, the president reviewed a guard of honour mounted by the Nigerian Army.

The president will lay the foundation stone for the ultra-modern King David University of Medical Sciences in Uburu, as well as the newly built presidential lounge in Abakaliki.

The president is also expected to open the state’s ultra-modern Ebonyi international shopping mall, as well as facilities at the newly constructed government house and completed road projects.

Security had been tightened up throughout the state, with appropriate security authorities assuring the public that lives and property would be adequately protected.
