Reactions As Petrol Is Being Shared At Party In Lagos
Following a gathering in Lagos State when petrol-filled jerrycans were distributed as party favors, social media users expressed their displeasure with the practice.
Apparently, a Lagos socialite, Pearl Chidinma Ogbolu, gave fuel as a memento during a celebration to commemorate her installation as the Erelu Okin of the Orile Kemta Kingdom, according to reports on social media.
Pictures and videos taken during the event, including the moment kegs of gasoline labeled with the words “Erelu Okin Foundation Installation Party” were handed out, have gone viral.
The kegs of gasoline were observed being given out to attendees during the party, which was hosted at the Havillah Event Place in Oniru, Lagos.
Gbenga Omotoso, the state’s Commissioner of Information and Strategy, said in a statement on Saturday that the state administration is looking into the situation.
Social media users in Nigeria have blasted the socialite for being indifferent to the situation of Nigerians and for putting her guests who were there at the party in danger.
