PSC Set To Dismiss Embattled DCP Abba Kyari

Police Service Commission (PSC) and other police officials have begun the process of removing embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari from his position as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

As reported by naija02, this is in response to the Federal Government’s decision to begin the extradition process of Abba Kyari in response to a request by the United States for the disgraced police officer to answer questions regarding the $1.1million wire fraud allegedly perpetrated by Abass Ramon, aka Hushpuppi, and four other individuals.

According to reliable sources, the Federal Government may have accepted Kyari’s extradition in order to provide him a chance to clear his name of allegations brought against him by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, on Sunday, while the police authorities officially questioned him and his team.

According to Vanguard, removing Abba Kyari would avert the embarrassment that might precede his prosecution by the National Democratic Leadership and Education Association (NDLEA) after his suspected participation in a deal following the ongoing investigations.

According to naija02, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) filed eight count charges against Kyari and others on Thursday, accusing them of participation in drug trafficking and other crimes.

Remember that Abba Kyari is sought in the United States for suspected involvement in a conspiracy to conduct wire fraud, money laundering, and identity theft, among other things.

He was suspected of collaborating with a Nigerian living in the United Arab Emirate, often known as the UAE, named Ramon Abbas, alias Hushpuppi, in order to conduct the crime.

“If you recall, the report of the DIG Joseph Egbunike Special Investigation earlier submitted by IGP Usman Alkali Baba was returned and Force Headquarters asked to carry out another investigation on the Hushpuppi allegation.

“They are yet to return the new investigation report to us. But whatever be the case, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice may have considered it expedient to send him to first clear himself of the allegations against him in the US.

“If he’s exonerated, then it would be easy to determine the case in Nigeria,” a source told Vanguard.
