One Killed As Building Collapses In Lagos

One person has been reported killed when a two-story building on Lagos Island’s Freeman Street collapsed.

On Saturday, one more victim was reportedly pulled alive from the rubbles.

During severe rains in the neighborhood, the two-story structure that was under construction fell.

Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Terrorial Head of the National Emergency Management Agency, verified the tragic occurrence.

One rescued alive and one died. Responders are on the way,”

he said.

This is occurring only two weeks after another building fell in Lagos State, according to Naija02.

The two-story structure that fell was on Chris Igadi Street in the Ago Palace Way district of the state.

According to another account, the building’s residents had evacuated the premises after seeing symptoms of structural problems.

Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, verified the news.

No casualties were reported, according to Oke-Osanyintolu, who also said that the Lagos State Building Control Agency had taken over the fallen building’s location.
