Nigeria Trolls Buhari Over His Refusal To Hand Over To Osinbajo, While On a Medical Trip
President Muhammadu Buhari’s claims that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is in control of government while he is away have sparked outrage.
On Sunday, the President discloses this to the State House journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The Nigerian leader left the country for a regular medical examination in London, but he did not officially hand over the administration to Osinbajo.
President Buhari claimed that Osinbajo, Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Ibrahim Gambari, his Chief of Staff, are capable of efficiently administering the country in his absence.
President Buhari, on the other hand, declined to say if he submitted a letter to the National Assembly informing them of his transfer to Osinbajo, as stipulated by Section 145 (1) of the 1999 constitution.
Nigerians have gone to social media to denounce the president for not observing the constitution by orally handing over to the vice president.
