The New American University Scholarship means more than assistance with financing your education, it includes a unique opportunity to begin making a difference while you earn your degree.
Arizona State University is committed to helping a greater number of academically qualified students graduate than ever. Our New American University Scholar awards are offered to outstanding incoming undergraduate students as they pursue academic excellence at ASU. Many of these scholarships are renewable. This program provides qualified students a monetary award and an environment focusing on knowledge, learning and research plus resources toward understanding and helping solve society’s most pressing challenges.
First-year Merit Scholarship Estimator
Use our First-year Merit Scholarship Estimator to find out if you qualify to become a New American University Scholar. Just enter your GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. Your scholarship award will be based upon your official academic credentials at the time of your admission to ASU. Be sure to request that your test scores be sent directly to ASU from the testing service.

Apply for Admission
ASU considers students for merit-based scholarships once they have been admitted to ASU. If you have not yet applied to ASU, submit an application for undergraduate admission and accompanying materials (official transcripts, test scores and application fee). Note that there are different priority dates for each scholarship.
