Lekan Balogun Crowned As The 42nd Olubadan

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has presented Oba Lekan Balogun with the staff of office as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan.  The new monarch was crowned in Ibadan, the capital of the state of Oyo.

The crowning Ceremony offically begins with the recitation the Nation’sNational Anthem and Oyo State Anthem at 11:14 a.m.

The opening prayers were said by Christians, Muslims, and Ibadan’s traditional Araba Awo.

Moshood Ayanyemi, Atookowagbowo, and other Ibadan drummers greeted the guests and well-wishers of the event.

All traditional chiefs, Mogajis, religious leaders, and leaders of various groups in Ibadanland paid respect to Oba Balogun when the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland was brought into the event at approximately 11.50 a.m.
