Kano APC House Of Reps Member, Rurum Dumps Party

As former speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhassan Rurum, announces his departure from the ruling party, the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) may face more defections in the coming days.
According to Naija02,this comes just 24 hours after Abdulmumin Kofa Jibrin, former member of the House of Representatives, announced his resignation via Twitter.
Jibrin reportedly left the party after failing to resolve his differences with Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The state chapter, on the other hand, has taken steps to prevent Jibrin from leaving the party.
However, Rurum announced his departure from the party to reporters on Sunday.
Rurum, who currently represents the federal constituency of Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya in the House of Representatives, was eyeing the APC governorship ticket.
However, stakeholders in the party led by state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje endorsed Nasir Gawuna, the deputy governor, and Murtala Sule-Garo, the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, for governor and deputy governor, respectively, on Sunday.
Rurum believes the APC leadership is not being fair to the people of Kano south, where he is from, by picking Gawuna and Garo from Kano Central and Kano North, according to Daily Trust sources.
Rurum informed reporters that he is considering which political party to join and that his choice would be announced shortly.
