IGP Expresses Saddness Over The Death Of DIG Joseph Egbunike

Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, has displayed sorrow over the death of Joseph Egbunike, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in command of the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID).

Egbunike, the chairman of the Special Investigation Panel set up to investigate senior police officer Abba Kyari, collapsed and died in his Abuja office on Tuesday,

IGP Baba said Egbunike died on Tuesday night at the National Hospital in Abuja after a minor illness, according to a statement released by the acting Force Public Relations Officer, Olumiyiwa Adejobi.

The death of the senior police officer, according to the police chief, is a significant loss for the country, the Nigeria Police Force, and the security business in the country.

Egbunike, according to The Inspector genral of Police, he was a devoted and experienced police officer who served the country in a number of roles, including as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Accounts and Budget.

He, on the other hand, expressed his condolences to the dead DIG’s immediate family, relatives, and friends, and wished for his soul’s peace.
