Cross River state Organized Labour suspends four weeks old strike

The Cross River state Organized Labour has suspended the 4 weeks old strike action embarked on over non payment of pension and gratuity to retirees.

This follows the intervention of the state’s Traditional Rulers’ Council, led by His Royal Majesty, Etiyin Etim Okon Edet.

The Chairman of the Joint Action Council, Comr Godwin Otei revealed this at a news briefing in Calabar on Thursday, alongside the Chairman of the state Chapter of the NLC, Comr Ben Ukpepi and the state Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comr Monday Ogbodum.

According to information gathered so far, “during the period of the strike action, the Organized Labour has had series of meaningful dialogue with the Government.
