Court Detains Another Man For Defaming Ganduje For Bribery
A resident of Kano, Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwamanda has been detained for accusing Kano state Governor for bribery
The individual is alleged to have alleged the governor of bribing the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leadership, led by Mai Mala Buni, in order for his factional leader, Abdullahi Abbas, to receive the party’s certificate of registration as Kano chairman.
In response to his claims, a lawsuit was issued against Kwamanda, and on Tuesday, March 8, a magistrate court in Kano’s Nomansland district decided in favor of Governor Ganduje.
Despite his plea of not guilty, the citizen was imprisoned on three counts related to the alleged defamation of the state governor.
After refusing the defense counsel’s request for bail, the sitting judge, Aminu Magashi, ordered Kwamanda to be held in a correctional facility.
The case was therefore delayed until March 15, 2022, and the defendant would detained until then.
