CAF Approves Abuja Stadium for 2023 AFCON qualifiers

CAF has accepted the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, to host Nigeria and Sierra Leone’s 2023 AFCON qualifier on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

Because to the unrest that followed the second leg of the United States’ 2022 World Cup qualifier against Ghana, there have been rumors that it would be prohibited from hosting international matches.

A punishment of $150,000 was levied on Nigeria by FIFA for its supporters’ trespassing on the field during their World Cup qualifier against Sierra Leone.
