BUK expels 178 students over fake IJMB results
178 candidates admitted through the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) examination between 2019 and 2021, according to Bayero University Kano’s Head of Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, have been expelled from the institution for presenting forged results, according to the institution’s Head of Public Affairs.
While 142 applicants were identified with bogus IJMB results between 2019 and 2020, 36 fraudulent admission seekers were discovered in 2021, and they have all been dismissed as a consequence, according to Garba
He went on to explain that the vast majority of people who have IJMB results did not appear for the tests that lead to the certificate; rather, the results were falsified at computer centers by organized crime syndicates. He went on to say that the institution has a system in place for verifying results, including SSCE results as well as results from polytechnics and colleges of education, in order to identify fake results.
