
Building collapses in Ebute Metta, Trapping Several Alive
On Sunday, May 2nd, 2022, a three-story structure in Lagos State’s Ebute Meta neighbourhood collapsed.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service revealed this on Twitter at 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Margaret Adeseye, the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, confirmed the news in a statement late Sunday night.
Several inhabitants of the fallen building were trapped, according to Margaret Adeseye, and a search and rescue effort was ongoing to free them.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service was already on the site when an alert of a collapsed three-story structure on 32 Ibadan Street, Ebute Meta, was received at about 9.48 p.m. on Sunday.
To save some of the trapped victims, a search and rescue effort is underway. The structure that collapsed was a residential building. More information will be made available when it becomes available.
