Early Life and Education
Bolanle Ninalowo was born on May 7, 1980, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, which is located in Nigeria’s South-Western region. He belongs to the Yoruba ethnic group and was born into the family of Alhaji Jamu Ninalowo and Alhaja Rualate Ninalowo, residing in Ikorodu. He is the second of eight children and spent most of his childhood in Lagos State.
He completed his primary and secondary education in Nigeria before embarking on further studies in the United States of America. Bolanle pursued his academic journey at DeVry University in Chicago, Illinois, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. His thirst for knowledge led him to continue his studies, and he achieved a Master’s Degree in Marketing from Keller Graduate School of Management in the USA.
After spending 15 years in the United States, Bolanle Ninalowo returned to Nigeria.
Initially, Bolanle Ninalowo ventured into the banking industry, leveraging his accounting degree to work as an accountant for General Growth Properties in Chicago. Upon returning to Nigeria, he joined Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB). However, his growing interest in the film industry led him to make a pivotal decision – his debut film titled “Rebirth.” The film focused on raising awareness about HIV and the stigma faced by those affected by the disease.
“Rebirth” premiered in various major cities across America and beyond, earning Bolanle the Nollywood Revelation of the Year award and marking the launch of his career in Nollywood. Following this success, he briefly stepped away from acting to explore other business opportunities.
In 2014, Bolanle Ninalowo fully embraced his acting career. He received numerous invitations from movie producers and went on to feature in both English and Yoruba films, including “Ordinary People,” “Desperate Baby Mama,” “What’s Within,” “Barrister Seliat,” “Picture Perfect,” and other notable Nollywood productions.
Bolanle drew inspiration from the veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), who had a significant impact on the industry for decades. Although Bolanle initiated a record label named “Diesel Music,” he eventually shifted his focus back to acting. He also ventured into the business world by collaborating with Nino Global Technology, a Nigerian-owned UK-based tech company, to launch a perfume brand.
Moreover, Bolanle Ninalowo became a brand ambassador for various prominent companies, including Jagaban Distillers, Baileys, and DNJ Properties, among others.
Bolanle Ninalowo’s contributions to the film industry have not gone unnoticed.
