APC Zones Presidency To South-West, VP To North-East Ahead Of 2023 Election
An agreement on a zoning scheme for the main six posts in the party and administration at the national level has apparently been reached by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Several reliable sources have told the Tribune that the All Progressives Congress (APC) favors the South-West in terms of generating the future President of Nigeria, while the North-East would provide the next President’s running partner.
In the Senate, the South-East will once again hold the president, while the North-West will take on the role of Speaker.
The structure is strikingly similar to what the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) portrayed as a governing approach in 1999, with Olusegun Obasanjo of the South-West as president and Atiku Abubakar of Adamawa in the North-East as his deputy at the time.
