Ali Modu Sheriff Withdraws From APC Chairmanship Race

Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno state, has dropped out of the APC’s national leadership campaign (APC). This comes only days before the governing APC’s national conference on March 26, 2022.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman told reporters on Sunday that he chose to resign because of the party’s zoning scheme, which has given the position to North Central.

He claims that if the governing party changes its decision between now and Friday, he would run again.

Remember that the APC had allocated its chairperson post to the North-Central, with Senators Adamu Abdullahi, Tanko Al-Makura, and George Akume, among others, all vying for the job.

Despite hailing from the North-West, Abdulaziz Yari, the former governor of Zamfara, has persevered on pursuing his desire.
