Abba Kyari Plans To Flee Nigeria – NDLEA tells court
On Monday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said that dismissed Deputy Police Commissioner, DCP, Abba Kyari, is plotting to flee Nigeria.
According to the NDLEA, Kyari planned to depart Nigeria to avoid being prosecuted for his offences.
While requesting an Abuja Federal High Court not to give Kyari bail, NDLEA sounded the alarm.
NDLEA claimed in a 21-paragraph counter-affidavit that Kyari would “escape and has the ability to influence with witnesses.”
On Monday, Joseph Sunday, the Director of Prosecution and Legal Services, revealed this when adopting the counter-affidavit before Justice Emeka Nwite.
Kyari and four former members of the Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, were traced to an international narcotics gang by the NDLEA.
After attempting to influence an NDLEA agent with $61,000 to enable the release of confiscated cocaine, the former IRT head and the four cops were apprehended.
