2023: I Am Sure I Will Secure APC Presidential Ticket – Tinubu Boasts
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State, has voiced optimism about winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket in 2023.
On Sunday, the APC National Leader declared he had an advantage over other candidates during a speech in Jalingo, Taraba State’s capital.
Asiwaju Tinubu told reporters following a meeting with party stakeholders and delegates in the state that his prospects of becoming the final APC candidate for 2023 are extremely good.
“My chances of winning the ticket are incredibly high and I am very confident. I am sure I can and I will win it,” he said.
The APC leader also said that he wants that each contender prove their popularity in the elections rather than having the party choose a consensus candidate as its flagbearer.
“I want democracy, I am voting for democracy, One man, one vote,” he said.
In addition, according to a statement sent by Tinubu’s media office on Sunday regarding his visit to Taraba, the presidential candidate encouraged party members in the state to embrace peace and togetherness so that the APC can win a resounding victory across the board.
“You must resolve your differences and put your house in order. We will work with you on this. One important thing you need is unity of purpose,’’ he said.
Aiwaju Tinubu had also visited Adamawa State on Saturday and met with APC stakeholders and delegates.
Former governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima; Chairman of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim-Imam; former EFCC Chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; and House of Representatives member, Hon. James Faleke, were among those accompanying Asiwaju Tinubu on his visit to the two states.
